Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The president of a Duluth adult foster care company is in trouble with the law for allegedly defrauding Medicaid of more than $164,000.

A criminal complaint states "Peace of Mind Health Services Inc." and "PCA Services North" allegedly made false claims for reimbursement of Personal Care Assistant and Qualified Professional Services to the Minnesota Department of Health.

42-year-old Lisa Huffman, who is listed as president and part-owner of both organizations, is charged with seven felony counts in connection with the investigation.

Investigators allege Huffman made false claims over the course of three years.

One such claim happened between July and December of 2012, when investigators accuse Huffman of billing the Department of Health for $52,000, which she allegedly pocketed.

Each felony count carries between five and 20 years in prison.

Huffman is expected in court for her first appearance on August 7th.
