Duluth man arrested for motor vehicle tampering

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com)--- Duluth Police arrested a 44-year-old Duluth man suspected of breaking into vehicles earlier this week.

Authorities were called just before 10 Monday night to 2nd Avenue East and 3rd Street on reports of a male that was trying car doors and had entered a vehicle.

Robert Louis Richey was located on 2nd Avenue East and 2nd Street with a stolen cellphone and bag on him
.
He was transported to the St Louis County Jail for gross misdemeanor motor vehicle tampering and misdemeanor possession of stolen property.

Richey has an extensive criminal record in Minnesota, including many theft charges.
