Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Duluthian Zoran Pedisic will receive the 2014 American Red Cross Good Samaritan Hero Award for his courageous actions that helped someone in need during a drowning emergency in November 2013.

Pedisic, a seasoned swimmer from Croatia, rescued a man who had jumped from a pier along the shores of Lake Superior.

Pedisic, knew the cold conditions of the water at the time, but without hesitation leapt into the lake and grabbed hold of the man and kept him afloat until they were pulled to safety.

Pedisic will be honored at the 6th annual American Red Cross Heroes Breakfast on Thursday, June 5, at the Hilton in downtown Minneapolis.

The public is invited to attend, help recognize Pedisic's actions, and support local Red Cross programs and services.
