Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The Duluth City Council got its first look at this year's legislative priorities at Thursday's agenda session.

The city is requesting state leaders to approve funding for some of the city's aging buildings and recreational facilities.

They include $3.4M for the Spirit Mountain water supply project, $5.7M for renovations to Wade Stadium and $6.9M for the NorShor Theater as well as funding for flood repairs to Lake Superior Zoo.

City leaders say the state is already familiar with the city's requests.

"These are not listed in any particular priority, we are asking for all three, these have been in one way shape or form in front of the legislature previously, so we feel that we've built good support there as well and within the Governor's office."

The city's request for project funding sits at $16.5M. The Governor's proposed 2014 state bonding budget is $975M.

The 2014 legislative session begins on February 25th.
