Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A new development hopes to bring big changes to Duluth's waterfront, as progress on the new Silos at Pier B resort in Canal Park continues.

Developers of the Pier B project say it requires the use of one of the city owned downtown parking lots.

That's why an agreement between DEDA and the city ended early for the hotel to have adequate room for parking.

Ending this agreement between Duluth and DEDA will save the city approximately $57,000 in 2014.

The new "Pier B" resort will be a 140 room hotel, which includes an event center, and a restaurant. The design also calls for a public waterfront area.

Project developers hope to be in the ground by September, and open by mid to late 2015.
