Proctor, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - Hosted by Fon-du-luth Casino, officials with the casino, the city of Proctor and other volunteers sat and waited to be dunked for dimes to help out March of Dimes.
Proctor Mayor Dave Brenna was first up on the dunk tank.
March of Dimes looks to prevent birth defects and infant mortality around the world.
Organizers say thanks to those taking the plunge; they will be able to help continue the organizations mission.
"The funds that are raised here tonight are going to be used to fund research into the causes of extreme prematurity....also education for moms and moms to be and also for expanding advocacy for expanding newborn screening," said Kim Parmeter, Director of the Northland Division of the March of Dimes.
Organizers said they hoped to raise 1 thousand dollars at tonight's dunk tank.
