Early morning fire in Superior kills two dogs; $50,000 in damages

Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Two dogs were killed after a home in Superior caught fire early this morning.

Fire crews were called to the scene of the blaze around 7:45 this morning along the 1800 Block of Oakes Avenue. Crews say once on the scene they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure, however they were able to get the fire under control quickly.

Two dogs were lost in the blaze, but no people were injured. Officials say it appears that no one was home at the time of the incident.

Damage is estimated at $50,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Superior Fire and Police Investigators.
