Water advisory removed at Minnesota Point Harborside beach

June 19, 2014 Updated Jun 20, 2014 at 1:27 PM CDT

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota Point Harborside/15th St. Beach was under a no water contact recommendation, but that advisory has since been lifted.

This beach used to be called the New Duluth Boat Club beach. The Minnesota Department of Health says they found elevated amounts of E. coli bacteria in samples collected on Wednesday indicating possible fecal contamination.

However, they resampled the beach on Thursday and found that fecal indicator bacteria levels were acceptable. If you get sick after contact with beach water, please call the Minnesota Department of Health at (1–877) 366–3455.
