(Northland's NewsCenter)--Small manufacturing companies on the Iron Range will now receive help to increase their competitiveness, grow business and create jobs.
The Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board has partnered with Enterprise Minnesota, an organization that works with manufacturing companies to help them operate more efficiently.
Fifty-thousand dollars will be divided among several companies that receive assistance from Enterprise Minnesota.
I.R.R.R.B Commissioner, Tony Sertich estimates that eight of 10 manufacturers on the Iron Range will benefit from the grant.
"We are going to be able to bring in experts to see how they are doing their process and where they can improve," Commissioner Sertich said. "Sometimes it's good to get that outside eye. You know when you are doing your businesses day by day you may glaze over what you're doing. They will be able to say, have you tried this yet? Are you looking at this?"
Enterprise Minnesota works to help 200 companies each year become more operationally efficient.
