Esko School to open Wednesday following bomb threat, evacuation

Esko, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Students will return to school in Esko Wednesday following an evacuation prompted by a bomb threat.

According to the Carlton County Sheriff's Office, a written bomb threat was found in the Esko School around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

All K-12 students were then evacuated to St. Matthews Church.

Tuesday night, police said the search of the Esko School was complete and no explosive devices or suspicious items had been located.

Law Enforcement from Thomson Township, Carlton County Sheriff’s Office, Cloquet Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, FBI, along with the Esko Fire Department responded to the incident.

The incident is still under investigation. No arrest have been made. Anyone with information is urged to call 9-1-1.
