Esko woman pleads guilty to role in fatal car crash

Carlton County, MN (NNCNOW.com)--- An Esko woman has pleaded guilty to charges of criminal vehicular homicide following a car crash last June that left one woman dead.

26-year-old Megan Dickenson was scheduled to go to trial In May for hitting and Killing 34-year-old Kari Luoma last summer.

The accident happened at the intersection of the Canosia and North Cloquet Roads in Carlton County.

Authorities say Dickenson flew through the stop sign at the intersection, colliding with Luoma's vehicle.

Luoma's husband Jeremiah was also in the car, and sufferred non-life threatening injuries.

Police say Dickenson admitted to drinking before the crash.

She will now be sentenced on May 23.
