Finland Man Hopes to Restore 'The Roundhouse'

Two Harbors, MN (NNCNOW.com)-- A mechanical engineer from Finland, Minnesota is hoping to restore an industrial building that dates back to 1888.

The Two Harbors City Counsel voted to demolish 'The Roundhouse' last month, to the dismay of John Ilse, who wants to restore the building and turn it into manufacturing facility.

Ilse says the city isn't really interested in his plan to renovate the building. He says the city's current plan to demolish the building, and turn it into a vacant lot is a missed opportunity.

"Unfortunately every small town in America has a vacant lot they want to have a business on but Two Harbors is lucky because not every small town in America has an 1888 roundhouse," said Ilse.

Ilse is hoping to pursued the Two Harbors City Counsel again on Monday with his plan.
