Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A Duluth home was extensively damaged after a fire broke out Sunday morning. According to the Duluth Fire Department, the fire was reported at 10:38 a.m. at the home located at 2867 Exeter St. When firefighters arrived they found that the two adults and two children who were home at the time of the fire had escaped safely. Authorities say that flames were visible from the eaves of the house and the attic was heavily involved with fire, which was quickly extinguished. Fire officials estimate that the home sustained $50,000 in damage. The cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical problem in the attic. According to the Duluth Fire Department, the family was alerted to the fire by their working smoke detectors.
