Firefighters Battle Flames at Carlton Motel

Carlton, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A State Fire Marshal is investigating what lead to a Christmas Eve fire at the Royal Pines Motel, just off Highway 35 in the town of Carlton.

Flames broke out just after 8:30 p.m. at 1508 County Rd 61.

The Carlton County Sheriff's Department says the hotel had eight guests at the time. No one was hurt.

Esko Fire, Wrenshall Fire, Cloquet Area Fire District, Blackhoof Fire, Mahtowa Fire, Solway Fire, West Brevator Fire, Fond du Lac Police, Cloquet Police and the MInnesota State Patrol all responded.

Temporary housing was made for the guests at the Golden Gate Motel in Scanlon.
