Flood Warning Issued for Scanlon

Scanlon, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Rapidly melting snow and rain is causing the St. Louis River in Scanlon to rise.

On Tuesday morning, the National Weather Service issued a flood warning for the St. Louis River in Scanlon.

Snowmelt runoff from the late, deep snow and the recent rainfall are causing high flows on the St. Louis River.

More rainfall occurred Tuesday morning with thunderstorms passing through the area. There is potential for another round of rain/snow mix starting on Wednesday.

The flood warning for Scanlon has been issued through Thursday night.

As of 8:30 Tuesday morning, the river was at 9.9 feet. The flood stage for the river is 10.5 feet. The river is expected to rise near flood stage after midnight Wednesday.
