Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) -- After 18 months of cleanup and hard work, Forging Community held its grand opening in the Armory Annex on Saturday.
A year and a half ago the Annex, which sits next to the Armory, was filled with debris from the 2012 June floods.
Now, the space is filled with Northland artists and the items they have created.
The annex will also serve as a place where people can learn to blacksmith.
"We're open Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in this space and somebody is always here. Come see us if you have never done blacksmithing before, nothing, feel free," said Janice Crede, a member of Forging Community.
The long term goal for the community is to one day move into the Duluth Armory.
