Sauk Co., WI (NNCNOW.com) - Former Superior and Duluth Mayor Herb Bergson has begun serving a 22 day jail sentence due to a drunk driving charge.

In December of 2005, then Duluth Mayor Bergson, was cited for drunken driving after he crashed his car in Spooner.

Days after that, he told the Northland he was swearing off drinking.

Bergson is currently serving the remainder of his sentence in the Sauk County Jail,

Bergson also has had his license revoked, along with having to drive with interlock ignition, for the next 15 months.

At this time, it's unclear whether those separate sentences will be served simultaneously.
