Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Twin Ports cat owners have a chance to get their cats fixed, free of charge.
Animal Allies has teamed up with Northland Spay and Neuter to offer residents in select Duluth and Superior neighborhoods free spay and neutering services.
The service also includes free rabies vaccination, microchip and nail trim on the day of service.
Program veterinarians say they've seen a big decline of stray cats in the community because of the free services.
"There's been about a 23% decrease in the number of stray and surrendered cat and kittens that are being brought into area shelters. It's a pretty significant jump, most places that have grants like this don't see jumps like that," said Meggan Neve, Northland Spay and Neuter.
The free program runs through December.
