Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.COM)--- Freezing rain created icy roads and hazardous driving conditions this morning throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation reported difficult driving conditions across much of Northeastern Minnesota including Interstate 35 and US 2.

On the other side of the bridge, icy roads were reported along US Highway 2 and Highway 53 in Wisconsin.

Plows were out all night salting the roads and will continue throughout the day.

Despite the conditions, the Minnesota State Patrol said numerous cars slid into the ditch but no serious accidents or injuries were reported.

Conditions are expected to clear up this morning. Temperatures should be just above freezing this afternoon, which should melt all of the ice that accumulated overnight.
