Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Outdoor gear specialty store Frost River, in Duluth, is taking an ambitious approach to bringing the Northland new hand–crafted products this year.

The 12 year old premium quality wax canvas and leather product manufacturer specializes in everything from rugged hiking and camping packs, to canoe paddles and sweatshirts.

This year, they're aiming to release 14 new products within the first 14 weeks of 2014.

According to Frost River craftsman Mark Bartell, some of the products will be brand new designs altogether.

Other releases will be new tweaks on old favorites, like the popular Explorer Duffel Bag.

"We decided to take this bag, which is just a very functional bag to begin with, and tweaked it out... with some back straps," said Frost River Craftsman Mark Bartell, "that you can take and put away into this pouch when you're not using them. It gives you more options."

Last year, Frost River released 13 new products within the first 13 weeks of 2013.
