Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Friends and supporters of native Duluthian and film maker Jim Ojala held a fundraiser Friday to help make his current project a reality.

Five bands and the Out Loud Comedians are preforming at the benefit at Clyde Iron Works.

Ojala has numerous credits under his belt in Hollywood for his work in special effects and is now looking to direct a film he has written.

"Strange Nature" exposes the deformed frog phenomena that began in Minnesota in the early 1990's.

Ojala hopes to raise enough support to begin production of Strange Nature by September 2014.

He plans to cast local talent for extra roles in the film that will be shot in Duluth.
