Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - Fire crews responded to calls just after three AM about a structure fire on the 1900 block of East Superior Street.
When authorities arrived on scene, they found a three car, single story garage engulfed in flames as high as 25 feet above the garage roof.
Fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze within 45 minutes of arrival, and stopped the fire from spreading to nearby homes.
"We had a little delay because we had so many rigs that were out of service when this alarm came in on other calls. But, we got it knocked down relatively quick, but—most important—we stopped it from going into the house," said Assistant Fire Chief Erik Simonson.
At least one car in the garage was consumed by the blaze, and two vehicles in the driveway received extensive damage.
Authorities are currently investigating what caused the fire.
Initial reports are estimating at least $75,000 in property damage.
