For the second year, the Nordic Center and the Sons of Norway instructed over forty "candy–contractors" on how to build the tasty structures.

A visual history of gingerbread was also taught, focusing on the Germanic and Nordic roots, as well as the original Gingerbread City in Bergen, Norway.

Event instructors say the kids look forward to this event year–round.

"And I know I get calls at my house because I have classes at my house and the kids are calling in July, 'is it gingerbread bread' and I go no we've got to wait at least to the end of September. We'll start on that," says Jan Gozanski.

All the gingerbread was home–baked.
