Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A downtown Duluth shop is apologizing for an MLK Day promotion that landed them in hot water.

The sale at Global Village on Superior Street promised 25 percent off everything black.

On Tuesday, proprietor Rachel Mock wrote on the store's Facebook Page saying sorry and asking for forgiveness.

The window ad and Facebook post promoting the sale prompted a flurry of replies calling it disgusting and outrageous.

Mock said this was the fourth year she held the promotion, intended to honor Martin Luther King, but promised she wouldn't do it again based on the negative feedback.
