Cloquet, MN (NNCNOW.com)--- No one was laughing at the April Fool's storm this morning.. but one restaurant in Cloquet was in good spirits despite the weather!

Gordy's Hi Hat opened it's doors to kick off it's 54th season.

Restaurant officials say they felt a change of season coming on a few weeks ago and decided to open, but today's weather went in a different direction.

Regardless, they are optimistic and excited to bring back the tradition for new and long-time customers.

"We have such a great customer base of people that are regulars from year to year and we're just so happy that they come back, first of all, and that we get to see them. You know we know so many people by name, it's great to see them. Their excited just to have something different to do on a day like this," said Owner Dan Lundquist.

Gordy's will be open now through October, weather permitting.
