Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - The organization hosted an education forum in Duluth today addressing the need for a fair farm bill.

The bill determines how food gets to our plates and who has access to safe, healthy, affordable food.

Several area organizations such as Community Action Duluth, Seeds of Success and Duluth Community Garden Program make it a reality.
Organizers say more communities need to follow suit - but it starts at the top.

"We have a food system that isn't working for a lot of Americans. It's not working for farmers who grow the food. It's not working for people who want to buy healthier foods at good affordable prices," said Emily Carroll, Midwest organizer for the food and water watch.

Food and Water Watch is on a 30 day-cross country mission urging community members to demand change for when Congress debates the next farm bill in 2012.
