VIRGINIA, MN (Northland's NewsCenter)--Helping a youth shelter in Virginia is the goal of Mesabi Range Community and Technical College students this week.

Lutheran Social Services operates a shelter that cares for temporarily homeless kids and is in need of supplies.

Students in the Human Services Club have created the Have A Heart Campaign and are selling valentine themed baked goods.

They are also collecting gently used goods including clothing, toys, games and gift cards.

"Things like the target gift cards, things like formula, that the shelter can't stock up on they have to buy as they need it," Michaela Longrie, a Human Services Club member said.

The campaign will continue through Wednesday at the college.
