UPDATE: Health Department Removes Advisory for Duluth Beach

June 20, 2013 Updated Jun 21, 2013 at 9:44 AM CST

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota Department of Health has issued a no-water contact advisory for a Duluth beach.

The water at Franklin Park/13th Street South Beach, located on the lakeside of Park Point, was tested on Wednesday and elevated E-coli bacteria levels were found.

The high levels indicate the possible presence of fecal contamination in the water.

The beach was resampled Thursday and fecal indicator bacteria levels and averages returned back to acceptable levels.

If anyone becomes ill after contact with this beach water, please contact the Minnesota Department of Health.
