Hermantown, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Hermantown Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the driver of a maroon minivan that apparently caused a crash on Miller Trunk Highway Friday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a vehicle in the ditch along Miller Trunk Highway and Vaux Road just after seven Friday evening.

The driver of the vehicle, a 66-year-old male, said he was traveling northbound on Highway 53 when a maroon minivan heading south on Vaux Road ran a stop sign.

The man said he swerved to avoid a collision, struck the heavy snow median and spun across the opposite lane into the ditch. Police say the driver in the minivan continued south on Miller Trunk without stopping.

Before the incident, another driver reported seeing a maroon minivan traveling erratically east on North Pike Lake Road, south on Midway Road, east on Martin Road, and south on Vaux Road.

Anyone who may have information on the driver or the minivan is urged to call Hermantown Police.
