Hospital Staff, Police Help End Standoff at St. Luke's

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com)-- Police say synthetic drugs played a part in a 2 1/2 hour standoff Saturday afternoon.

According to authorities, a patient at St. Luke's broke a window at the hospital and climbed onto a third story ledge and threatened to jump.

The combination of police and hospital staff helped talk the 37-year-old man down. The Duluth Fire Department used a ladder truck to lower him down.

Duluth police posted on their facebook page the man was irate and synthetic drugs were involved.
