Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Fire officials are investigating the cause of late night fire that destroyed a Grand Lake Township home.
Fire fighters were called to the scene of a structure fire around 7:45 p.m. Friday
Witnesses say flames leaped far above the home. Witnesses also described large exploding noises as the fire consumed the one story house.
Fire officials say they house is a total loss and do not believe anyone was inside the home at the time of the fire.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office along with the State Fire Marshall's office is continuing to investigate the fire.
Fire departments from Canosia Township, Solway Township, Grand Lake Township and Hermantown all responded to the scene of the fire as well as the St. Louis County Sheriff's Department.
