Itasca County, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A married couple who teamed up to sell meth has been charged with felonies in Itasca County.

The husband, 37-year-old, Travis Jon Furman was initially stopped for traffic violations; however, the routine stop led to police finding him in possession of 3.5 ounces of crystal methamphetamine.

That amount of meth has a street value of $15,000.

The husband also had a semi–automatic handgun, a rifle, $2,285 in cash, a digital scale and small plastic baggies. He was charged with 1st degree sales of controlled substance, a felony and also with driving under the influence of drugs.

His wife, 37-year-old Sulamita Furman also was stopped for traffic violations driving a separate vehicle.

She had the couple's three children in the vehicle with her and was also in possession of Crystal Methamphetamine.

Police arrested her for driving under the influence of drugs, child endangerment and 3rd degree possession of a controlled substance.

The children present during the incident are in foster care and a child protection investigation is underway.

A judge has set bail and the couple will be back in court on May 6th.

These two arrests are the result of an ongoing two–month investigation by the Itasca County Sheriff's Office.

People are urged by the sheriff's office to report suspicious activity and can remain anonymous by calling (218) 326–3477 or (1–800) 458–8732.
