Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) -- The Department of Natural Resources is warning that due to the late ice–out repair crews may not be able to get to all DNR boat launches by the May 11th opener.

Spokespeople say that's especially true in Northern Minnesota where many lakes still have ice.

The Department says crews can't inspect and repair launches and docks until ice is off a lake and once they start it can take a few weeks to get to every site in an area.

The Department suggests that boaters call ahead for information on the body of water they plan on using.
