Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- While boating on Wisconsin Point in Superior on Saturday, a family dealt with a dangerous situation.

The Douglas County Sheriff's office was called to a report of a sinking boat and eight people in the water.

43 year old Daniel Summers told the sheriff's office he was operating the boat along Wisconsin Point when he swerved at the last moment to avoid striking a railroad tie.

He was too late, and the impact tossed at least two of the children out of the boat.

Thankfully, all three adults as well as the five children (ages eight through 11) were all safe and accounted for. The people all made it to shore while the boat filled up with water, and had to be towed.

Everyone was wearing life jackets and there were no injuries.
