HIBBING, MN (Northland's NewsCenter)---Family and friends came together Tuesday to celebrate the life of Lindsey Gonzalez.

The 17-year-old along with her friend Kelsey Perkins were killed when their car left the road and rolled into a creek, just weeks before high school graduation.

Those who knew Lindsey say her smile and sparkling personality touched the lives of everyone she met.

"Just one of the 'funest' people ever," Trevor Samsa, a friend said. "Just loved life, everything about it. Woke up everyday with a smile on her face. Just had the most glowing smile, warmest personality."

That attitude showed in her day to day work at Super One.

One family friend says Lindsey went above and beyond helping her father who suffers from Parkinson's disease, with groceries.

"He said that in a world where there is not a lot of nice people, she made his experience very pleasant," Mica Schnortz said.

"She just brought a bunch of smiles to Super One," Ben Harkonen, a co-worker said. "She's going to be missed."

Some say it was never a dull moment with Lindsey. She loved to cliff jump and play soccer.

"Lindsey, she's just funny," Colten Perkins, Kelsey's younger brother said. "Her laugh got to me every time I heard it."

Family says Lindsey and Kelsey had been best friends since grade school and were planning to move in together and attend college in the Twin Ports area.

"They are both beautiful girls," Perkins said.

And they will both be missed.

"Every time I saw them it just made me smile, because they were having a great time," Samsa said. "No matter what they were doing, who they were with, they just enjoyed life itself. We all gotta' take that to heart."

Family and friends also celebrated her life at the Open Doors Church in Hibbing.
