Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) - The inaugural Frozen Fore tournament—hosted by the Superior Chamber of Commerce—invited teams to golf on a customized course, and allowed them to use anything they chose as a club.

The family–friendly event—played in front of Barker's Island—doubled as a fundraiser, as the proceeds went to benefit Superior's Youth Leadership Program.

According to Dave Minor—President and CEO of the Superior Chamber—a lackluster winter season couldn't stop the community's curiosity.

"[There's] a lot of people talking about the event. I know a lot of people have come down just to see what it is, y'know, 'what do you mean you're golfing with a tennis ball,' 'what do you mean I can use anything I want to hit it with?' So, a lot of people are saying, 'OK, now I've got this! I'm going to come back next year," said Minor.

Along with complimentary coffee and food available, the event also featured a bonfire for teams to warm up in between tee–offs.
