International Falls, MN (NNCNOW.com) -Thirty four-year-old, Benjamin Beaudoin of Mendota Heights, Minnesota was killed after breaking into a home and assaulting the tenant early Saturday morning.

According to the Koochiching County Sheriff's Office, a deputy was called to the 5700 hundred block of Highway 53, in Ray Minnesota, around six Saturday morning.

There, the deputy found Beaudoin fatally wounded by a handgun.
Authorities say this was the second home Beaudoin had invaded that morning in Koochiching County.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension reports a couple said Beaudoin kicked in their locked door around 5 a-m and assaulted the tenants.
The male tenant reportedly attacked the invader hitting him over the head several times with a shotgun.

Beaudoin took off and a short time later showed up at another home asking the elderly homeowner to help him as he was covered in blood.

Once inside, he grabbed the woman, throwing her to the floor, choking her and beating her head on the ground.

Her son came to her rescue shooting Beaudoin with a handgun.

Beaudoin was taken to the Rainy Lake Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and International Falls police.
