Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The defense attorney, who represented Last Place on Earth owner Jim Carlson, has been temporarily suspended from the practice of law.

The Minnesota Lawyers Professional Responsibility Board asked for Randal Tigue's suspension. The court referee who investigated, determined that Tigue negligently misappropriated client funds and failed to maintain required trust account records.

The referee recommended that Tigue be publicly reprimanded and put on supervised probation for three years.

The Lawyers Professional Responsibility Board recommended that Tigue be indefinitely suspended, and required to petition for reinstatement, but the Supreme Court opted for the lesser punishment.

Tigue was disciplined for similar misconduct in 2007. He completed his probation on that disciplinary action in 2009.
