Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - After a 39 year career with St. Luke's hospital in Duluth, Vice President of Regional Development Jo Ann Hoag is saying goodbye to her co–workers and hello to retirement.

Hoag is also the President of Lake View hospital, in Two Harbors.

During her time with Saint Luke's, Hoag became Head Nurse, served on more than 20 boards, and was recently honored for her work in developing the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner program.

"It would be really beneficial to have people who have the time and the expertise to spend with those folks, because it's a very vulnerable period of time," said Hoag, referring to her work with the program, "and when you're in a busy emergency department, you have other people that also have other injuries and illnesses that need attention."

Hoag's husband is retiring on the same day, coincident or not.

She says they're looking forward to focusing on their business: Lake Superior Brewing Company.
