Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A Twin Ports radio station and its DJs will get their moment in the national spotlight Tuesday night on TV.

KUMD and its student-run program "The Basement" will give the rest of the US a taste of Duluth's music culture on mtvU.

The show "College Radio Countdown" will feature a minute-long video produced by the students followed by 10 music videos picked by KUMD.

The show will feature several Minnesota-based bands including Trampled by Turtles.

"These are music videos we selected that represent the basement and KUMD really well," said Sam Ginsburg, the Assistant Marketing Director for the station. "We wanted to stick with our roots and we have some really good local videos on there as well. It defines who we are as a station and the direction we are going."

UMD will host a viewing party Tuesday night for the show, which students say they've spent countless hours working on.
