Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) -- After last winter's harsh weather, a number of Northland organizations are staying ahead of the game by collecting warm gear for those who need it.
College radio station, KUMD, is taking donations for their third annual "Stuff the Truck" event.
This year they are looking for everything from coats to boots, to cash donations.
The winter clothing and gear will go to the Damiano Center.
Last year the radio station collected more than 1,300 summer clothing items and in 2012, they collected 800 pounds of non-perishable goods for the Salvation Army.
"We air a lot of interviews of various nonprofits all year long and are um, very connected to the nonprofit community in Duluth and Northland and um, we know the need," said Mimmu Salmela, Director of Public Relations for KUMD.
Donations will be accepted through September 5th (except for Labor Day) at KUMD studio at Weber Music Hall on the UMD Campus.
The truck will be at the Twin Ports Bridge Festival on September 6th.
