Duluth, Minn. (NNCNOW.com) -- Lester Park Elementary school kids handed out Christmas trees to patients at Saint Luke's hospital on Thursday.

Kids from grades one through five raised money by doing chores at home to buy little Christmas trees.

The trees, decorated with ornaments that were handmade by the students, were given to patients in several units who will be at the hospital during Christmas.

"It's really important for the others and for everyone so they can have a good Christmas," said First Grader Taylor Mingus.

Saint Luke's volunteers also handed out about two dozen stuffed stockings to children in the pediatrics and emergency departments.
