Kitchen fire in West Duluth home causes $20 K in damages, no injuries

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A kitchen fire in a West Duluth home Sunday afternoon has caused an estimated $20,000 in damage.

According to the Duluth Fire Department Assistant Chief's office, crews responded to a report of an oven fire on the 400 block of 80th Avenue West just after three.

There, they discovered and quickly knocked down a fire in the kitchen of the two story single family dwelling.

Crews were able to contain the damage to the immediate area. They also assisted the two occupants with securing personal belongings. No injuries are reported.

The cause of the fire is determined to be grease on the electric range.
