Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- One of every five women in the U.S. is sexually assaulted while in college, according to a recent White House report. But only 12% of sexual assaults are reported.

U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota today stressed the problem of sexual assaults on college campuses. Klobuchar says light has to be shone on this problem and something needs to be done to combat the crimes.

She's calling for an increase in funding for programs that help prevent and respond to sexual assaults on college campuses. The Senator joined the University of Minnesota president, advocates and students, to discuss ways to prevent sexual violence.
