Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - People at the Lake Superior Zoo held an early Easter celebration Saturday with their annual Easter Egg–stravaganza.

The event featured the traditional egg hunt, but also allowed kids to play games and visit their favorite animals. Organizers say the event is a great tradition for all families.

"The kids are thrilled. I see them running to the exhibits. I see them calling out the names of their favorite animals. They're just happy to be here and getting ready for the big sugar rush in the morning," said Lake Superior Zoo Marketing Director, Kim Mateen.

Zoo officials say the event brought in about 2,000 people to the zoo.
