Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The Minnesota Capitol will welcome hundreds from northern Minnesota on Wednesday as part of a critical grassroots citizen lobbying effort.
County and city leaders, along with citizens, will travel to St. Paul for the 16th annual Duluth and St. Louis County at the Capitol Event.
Duluth Chamber leaders expect to deliver plenty of thank-yous to state lawmakers since this year is a non-bonding year and budgets are tight.
Some of the projects leaders will discuss with lawmakers include the new DTA multimodal transportation center, the new Duluth airport terminal and several mining projects on the Iron Range.
"We'll talk to our legislators, say thank you (and) hear some of the issues," said Roger Wedin, the director of policy and education for the Duluth Area Chamber . "We have some good stories to tell. We'll talk about Northeastern Minnesota and the good things that are going on here."
Lobbying leaders and citizens will spend Wednesday meeting with lawmakers.
They'll attend a reception in the evening.
