Leech Lake, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Members of the Leech Lake Wildland Fire program are back home after fighting fire in Idaho, one of 11 states where wildfires are burning.

Eric White, George Jacobs and Tim Bebeau were on a 20 man interagency hand crew working on the Lodge Pole fire in the Salmon Challis National Forest.

They spent 14 days there.

According to Bebeau fire activity was very intense from being wind driven through the steep terrain in the forest.

Another member of the team, Charlie Blackwell left Thursday for an assignment on the Lolo Creek Complex fire in Montana.

The Leech Lake Wildland Fire program offers fire suppression support to the Bureau of Indian affairs, The United States Forest Service and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
