St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Proposed legislation in a Minnesota House committee could have smokers coughing up more for a pack of cigarettes.
Representative Ann Lenczewski (DFL - Bloomington) wants to double the state's cigarette tax.
That would end up meaning consumer would pay $2.83 a pack in taxes.
Governor Mark Dayton has proposed a $0.94 increase.
