Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - That's what the Life House shelter for homeless and at–risk youth did on First Street, today.

The block party invited the community to partake in live music, food, and dancing.

But, the mission of the afternoon celebration was to highlight the accomplishments of the dozens of kids and teens who've utilized the Life House program this year, and their successes in areas like finding housing, and education.

"For a lot of our youth, they really don't have the support of their families that typical kids would. So, it's really important for the community to come out and show support for our youth," said Life House Executive Director Maude Dornfeld.

37 young people were highlighted for their accomplishments during the celebration.
