MLK Parade Still On Despite Chilly Weather
The annual Martin Luther King, Jr. march will still be held Monday, January 21 despite the forecast of severe cold. Because of the chilly temperatures, the outside portion of the march will be shortened and the skywalk over the DECC will be used. The planning committe urges anyone who is marching to dress for the weather, and stay warm. For those who are not able to brave the cold, they can still take part in the rally by going directly to the DECC. The World Beat Drummers from Nettleton Elementary School will be playing welcoming music beginning at 10:15 a.m. and the broadcast of inaugural events will start at 10:45. The local program from the Twin Ports will start at approximately 11:45.
